Note Trainer – Practice Reading Notes on the Staff

Learning to read music becomes much easier when you focus on a small number of notes at a time. This interactive Note Trainer lets you choose exactly which notes you want to practise, making it ideal for complete beginners as well as more advanced learners.

Select the notes you want to include in the exercise, choose the treble clef, bass clef, or a mixture of both, and identify each note as it appears on the staff. You can answer using the on-screen buttons, your computer keyboard, or a connected MIDI keyboard.

Orange buttons represent the notes that will appear in the exercise, while white buttons are excluded. For example, selecting only C lets you practise just C notes, while selecting C, D, and E limits the exercise to those three notes.
